Some short notions from the actual meeting.
Denise thought the women in the daughters life were very interesting. She also liked how the author built up the characters.
Brenny liked the book but it was a dark read.
Everyone felt sorry for the kids and how they were damaged.
It was obvious that the Moth and the Mother knew each other prior.
Warlight is about 2 young adults named Rachel and Nathaniel, who were left by their parents in the care of a man they called The Moth that lived in their complex . The parents just leave for Singapore due to work, only the mother doesn't take her travel trunk. What the heck? Who is this man that their parents left them with and where are their parents really?
There are all kinds of assorted types of people that enter into their lives. One even has Nathaniel help him smuggle greyhounds for a racing business.
As Nathaniel gets older he becomes more curious about their parents disappearance and their part in the war efforts. He tries to piece together the story via his own imagination and information he finds to create a story. The word Warlight suggests a muted or poorly light situation hence the well titled book..
So ends another good evening of friends getting together to share their love of reading and laughing.
